NUCLEAR NEW ENGLAND ECOSYSTEM
A regional coalition uniting industry, academia, and government to build the advanced nuclear energy ecosystem New England needs.
Learn More →ABOUT N2E2
The Nuclear New England Ecosystem (N2E2) is an industry working group dedicated to establishing the regional infrastructure, workforce, and supply chain necessary for advanced nuclear deployment across New England. With the region's deep nuclear heritage — from the pioneering days of the USS Nautilus and Yankee Rowe to world-class university research programs — N2E2 builds on a foundation of excellence to meet tomorrow's clean energy challenges.
Anchored by StarCube, a New Hampshire-based advanced reactor developer building next-generation compact pressurized water reactors, N2E2 convenes stakeholders from across the nuclear value chain to coordinate investment, policy, and talent development at the regional scale.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The U.S. Department of Energy is establishing Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campuses across the nation — integrated hubs co-locating research, workforce training, and advanced manufacturing in partnership with industry. New England is uniquely positioned to host one of these campuses, combining world-class universities, an established nuclear workforce, and strong state-level policy support.
Nuclear is enjoying a resurgence with new pathways and technolgies that can answer regional, national, and international entergy needs. With a heritage of top-engineering talent, New England deserves to have a strong nuclear profile.
OUR FOCUS
Training the next generation of nuclear engineers, technicians, and operators through partnerships with New England universities and community colleges.
Building a regional nuclear supply chain by qualifying local manufacturers, establishing quality programs, and connecting vendors to reactor developers.
Coordinating R&D across national labs, universities, and private companies to accelerate advanced reactor technologies and nuclear applications.
Advocating for supportive regulatory frameworks, state energy policies, and public engagement to build broad-based support for nuclear energy.
